Image Exposure & Brightness Adjuster

Fix underexposed or overexposed photos. Adjust the overall exposure mathematically to mimic increasing or decreasing camera light.

True Exposure Math

A standard 'Brightness' slider simply adds white to every pixel, which washes out contrast and makes photos look hazy. A true 'Exposure' adjustment applies a mathematical multiplier to the pixels, mimicking what happens when a camera lens lets in more light. This tool uses authentic exposure math to brighten your dark photos while keeping the contrast punchy.

Why Use Our Exposure Adjustment?

  • No Haze: Brightens photos without making them look milky or washed out.
  • F-Stop Mimicry: Adjustments represent true photographic 'Stops' of light.
  • Fast Correction: Save photos that were taken too fast in the dark.
  • Offline Capable: Complex light rendering done securely in your browser.

How to Use the Exposure Adjustment

1.

Upload your dark or bright photograph.

2.

Drag the Exposure slider (values represent EV stops).

3.

Watch the live preview to ensure highlights don't 'blow out'.

4.

Click 'Download Corrected Image'.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean to 'blow out' a highlight?

If you increase the exposure too much, bright areas (like clouds) will hit maximum pure white (RGB 255). All detail in that area is lost and cannot be recovered.

Why is this better than the brightness slider on my phone?

Standard brightness simply adds a flat value to all pixels. Exposure multiplies the values, which respects the original contrast ratio of the photograph.
